Training

Tierny

Tierny is the trainer. This is exactly what Tierny is trained for: Level 4 Dog Behaviour Diploma with nearly a decade of hands-on experience.

  • Level 4 Dog Behaviour Diploma

The qualification behind every training plan we write.

  • Nearly a decade hands-on

Working with real dogs in real Wiltshire streets, fields and front rooms.

  • Reactivity and off-lead reliability

Reactivity Rehab is the programme we are asked about most.

  • Insured and DBS-checked

Both, before your dog is ever taken out.

Tierny started at 15, helping people train their dogs in the park. In 2019 his own husky, Blizzard, became reactive and bit a friend's dog. Several trainers could not fix it. With the right mentor he did, and by 2020 Blizzard was off lead and the reactivity was gone. Reactive and difficult dogs have been his focus ever since.

He has never stopped learning. Tierny was mentored by Jo-Rosie Haffenden, has travelled across the UK to train with other trainers, including Jay Gray of Obsidian K9, and has worked through online courses from trainers such as Pat Stuart. Add hundreds of workshops and seminars over nearly a decade, and the list of great trainers he has learned from keeps growing.

Grace holds a Level 3 Animal Management qualification. She and Tierny met through dogs in 2018, when he offered to train her chihuahua, who bit his ankles. They started the dog walking business together the same year.

Our dogs.

Siren

Siren came to us as a foster, off the euthanasia list for severe reactivity towards small dogs. We fixed it. She is now working towards her Protection Dog Certificate, and we hope to go on to compete in PSA with her.

Blizzard

Blizzard is eight, retired and living his best life. He was severely reactive, with a bite history. Between his genetics and his behaviour, he is still the hardest case Tierny has worked with.

Bing is the cute one. Currently doing obedience with Grace, with one goal: to become the best chi in the UK.

About us

How did you two meet?

Through dogs, in 2018. Tierny offered to train Grace's chihuahua. The chihuahua bit his ankles. We have been walking dogs together ever since.

Who does what?

Tierny is the trainer and Grace runs the walks, though you will see both of us out with the dogs.

How did Tierny get into dog training?

He started at 15, helping people train their dogs in the park. Then our husky, Blizzard, became reactive and attacked our friend Maggie's dog, Remy, three times. We thought we had it all figured out. We were lost, and it nearly cost us the friendship. Maggie was understanding and helpful the whole way through. That was the low point, and the reason Tierny went looking for proper help.

Some of the trainers he hired were very good. Some were very bad, and he left those. The breakthrough came with Jay Gray of Obsidian K9. Tierny made the trip from London to Doncaster more than ten times, for one-to-ones, academy days, workshops and the pet club Jay ran at the time. He also worked through Jay's online academy, and by 2020 Blizzard was off lead.

He has not stopped since. He has now learned from 20 different dog trainers, through shadowing, classes, one-to-ones, mentorships and club days. That includes workshops with Jason Cooper, a sport dog trainer competing at the top level of PSA, with Emma of Raven K9 Dog Training, and with Jo-Rosie Haffenden. He joined Pat Stuart's Skool community. In 2023 he started a year-long mentorship with Jo-Rosie, which comes with lifetime support and access to her online academy of more than 200 hours of content. In 2025 he completed the Level 4 Dog Behaviour Diploma from the British College of Canine Studies.

What are your qualifications?

Tierny holds a Level 4 Dog Behaviour Diploma and Grace holds a Level 3 Animal Management qualification. We are both insured and DBS-checked.

What does Grace do when she isn't walking dogs?

Taking 200,000+ photos and videos of Bing and Blizzard.

What's the strangest thing a dog has done on a walk?

A dog called Billy ran into the forest and came back out with a dildo. Yes, you heard that right. He didn't have an "out" command, and we weren't going anywhere near it. In nearly a decade of running Wagandwalks, we don't think we'll ever see anything as strange, funny and disgusting all at the same time.

About the dogs

What is Blizzard's favourite activity?

Howling the house down.

What is Blizzard's favourite snack?

A McDonald's cheeseburger.

Is Blizzard still working?

No. He is eight, retired and living his best life. He has earned it.

Where did Siren come from?

She came to us as a foster, off the euthanasia list for severe reactivity towards small dogs. She stayed.

What is Siren training for?

Her Protection Dog Certificate. After that, we hope to compete in PSA with her.

What is Siren's favourite activity?

Did someone say squirrel?

What is Bing's ambition?

To become the best chi in the UK. Grace is working on the obedience.

What is Bing's worst habit?

Humping Grace's leg.

Who is the cutest?

Bing. Bing knows it.

Who is really in charge at home?

Bing.

The practical bits

What areas do you cover?

Trowbridge is home base. We also cover Bradford on Avon and Westbury, plus Holt, Staverton, Hilperton, Westwood, Winsley, and the villages in between. If you're nearby and not sure, drop us a message and we'll let you know.

My dog is really reactive. Is there hope?

Yes. This is exactly what Tierny is trained for: Level 4 Dog Behaviour Diploma with nearly a decade of hands-on experience. Reactivity Rehab is the programme we're asked about most.

Do you walk in groups or solo?

Both. Group walks are carefully paired so the group works well together. No random meet-ups. Solo walks are available for dogs who need space, are reactive, recovering, or just prefer their own company.
